For me, it’s kinda sorta, ok. Another day above ground, yay!

Do what you can… when you can.
Never let anyone set your own limits; consider yourself unlimited until you reach something that stops you. Then ask yourself – how can I get past it?
And then put *that* into action.

After writing that, I bravely put on my parenting hat and did the following:
“The parent entrepreneur. I’m walking back and forth between office and kitchen, cooking a meal while doing morning work routine.”
followed by:
“And this is the result. Stir fry chicken with mango, curry, celery, onions and peppers.”
Good stuff!
Got to the gym (yay!), came home and smoosh.
The fact I had about 5 hours of sleep *might* have done me in a bit.
*Might, mind you*.
Which is why I’m writing this newsletter NOW and NOT counting on waking up in the morning to do it! 🙂
And instead of listening to my Dr. Strange go-to music, I’m now blasting out the Pacific Rim Soundtrack

Well actually gnope…. it’s still Monday at around 8:30pm.

Well. Character-building is one way I’d describe it. Good news is yay, I did get to the gym!
All together now: Wooooot!
Could-be-better-news is the rest of the day. 🙂 But so long as we wake up again… it’s all good, the future is always in motion.
One of the things I did realize that I really do need to pass down to my kids is:
Whenever you’re talking to someone you value, always keep in mind that virtually 100% of the time… they have good intentions towards you.
Communications styles might make that difficult to realize every now and then. ‘matter of fact, I’m reminded of that…. daily …. with one of my kids. Sigh. It’s something that can be hugely frustrating but we did end up having a convo after the massive miscommunications involved. It’s so bizarre – we just don’t *get* each other. Not because we don’t want to, but because we just are *that much* different.
Still, though, got thru it so yay.
(and if you’re wondering, yes, right now I have on infinite repeat my go-to music:

… I *so* need.

Decent day yesterday. I did have an interesting convo regarding ‘being right’:

Ever get an insane desire to convert folks who do not share your own most-cherished beliefs?
I mean, after all, you *know* your ideas are right!
And it’s your duty to the galaxies far, wide, above and more to let others know quite how dumb they are for not *yet* seeing the light you are so graciously offering to provide.
Right?
And after *finally* internalizing the wisdom you possess, your audience is virtually guaranteed to prostrate themselves before your magnificence, thanking you in earnest for all the dazzling truths you have shared!
‘course, there MIGHT be one teeny tiny itsy bitsy squidgem widgem problem with all of the above….
You try converting people with all of the style and grace…
… of a rabid aquatic moose who bumped face-first into the only drunk porcupine in the forest during quill-shedding-season…
… thus limiting your conversational ability to something slightly only barely above “Hulk SMASH!”
Uh huh.
Not wise.
See, true, you might actually *be* right.
For example, behold this profound truths that are undeniable because I say so!
Coffee is glorious!
Anti-vaxxers risk the lives of their children!
The Earth is NOT flat (but Asgard is!)!
Speaking of Asgard, OMG, Thor is *hot*!

Right, that is, if the peoples you want to convert were actually *reading* the material.

Guess what.
Gnope, they’re probably going to be *listening* to you, right?
And if you come across like an arrogant tweeblehead who looks down upon those un-caffeinated masses with contempt in your very being….
Guess what part II!
Even if *you* believe your ideas are right, nobody will want to listen to you because you make them feel stupid (and probably 3487378 other reasons, but let’s start with that one).
Like Maya Angelou said once said:
“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will NEVER forget how you made them *feel*.”
And when you make people feel stupid, you’ve basically drop-kicked your face into the goalposts of life.
Seriously.

The art of effective communications begins with *you*.
NOT your listeners.
But you. And when you choose to make others feel stupid or inferior or what have you….
You’ve just lost any chance you might have possessed to actually create *understanding*.
Because when 2 sides listen to each other…. chances are, understanding can grow.
But if you make a velocipator seem tame in comparison when you try to “spread the light”….
You have only yourself to blame when evolution casually glances in your direction and chomps you up.
